abstract (57) [Summary] (Revised) [Constitution] 0.05 to 5 parts by weight of a specific copper compound and 100 parts by weight of a specific thioamide derivative per 100 parts by weight of a methacrylic resin. A near-infrared absorbing methacrylic resin composition, characterized by containing 05 to 50 parts by weight, and a near-infrared absorbing methacrylic resin molded article obtained by molding this composition into a sheet or film. [Effect] The obtained resin material has no instability such as discoloration, no photochromism that it discolors even when left in a dark place for a long time is observed, and the obtained near-infrared absorbing sheet has a near-infrared absorption wavelength of 800 to 2000 nm. It has a strong absorptivity over the entire infrared region. By utilizing these properties, it can be used as an optical material such as a near infrared ray cut filter, a recording material, a heat ray shielding material, a heat storage material, a near infrared ray detection sensor and the like. The composition of the present invention, even though containing a metal, is less colored, so a sheet containing them, A molded product such as a film has an excellent appearance.
