abstract | (57) [Summary] [Object] To provide crystals of a fluoran compound having improved properties such as improved solubility in capsule oil, storage stability of thermosensitive recording paper, and color development properties. [Structure] General formula (1) (In the formula, R 1 is i-C 3 H 7 group, sec-C 4 H 9 group or i-C 4 H 9 group. A crystal of a fluorane compound represented by the formula (3), a method for producing the crystal, and a recording material containing the crystal. [Effects] When the crystals of the fluorane compound of the present invention are used in a thermal recording paper, the whiteness of the uncolored portion of the paper is higher than that of a known amorphous fluorane compound. Furthermore, it has excellent performance as a color-forming compound such as a pressure-sensitive and heat-sensitive recording material, in that it has a higher solubility in capsule oil than the known fluoran compound. |
