abstract (57) [Summary] [Structure] 0.5 to 30 parts by weight of an organic bromine compound is added to 100 parts by weight of a liquid crystal polyester having a specific structure, and 0.001 to 5 parts by weight of a phosphonite compound represented by the following structural formula. A flame-retardant liquid crystal polyester composition which is contained. (However, those R 1, R 2, R 3 and R 4 may carbon atoms be the same is selected from 1 to 25 alkyl group, a substituted alkyl group, an aryl group or a substituted aryl group. Further, R 5 Represents an alkylene group having 1 to 33 carbon atoms, a substituted alkylene group, an arylene group or a substituted arylene group. [Effect] This composition has excellent flame retardancy, particularly resistance to dropping of granules upon combustion, good mechanical properties and good appearance when molded, and excellent heat resistance.
