titleOfInvention Vascular prosthesis with elastomeric coating
abstract (57) Summary Constitution A vascular prosthesis moistens a tube of porous polyester fiber with water until excess of the maximum weight gain is gained in the tube, removing excess liquid from the inside of the tube. Remove and repeatedly contact the inner surface of the tube with a solution of the biocompatible polymer in a water immiscible solvent to adsorb the solution on the inner surface of the tube and remove excess solution, then adsorbed A method of making a vascular prosthesis comprising removing the solvent from the solution to form a non-porous elastomeric coating of the desired thickness on the inner surface of the tube. Effects The vascular prosthesis is mechanically strong, flexible, substantially non-porous and does not require precoagulation prior to implantation.
