titleOfInvention Metal halide lamp
abstract (57) [Summary] [Purpose] To provide a metal halide lamp which is filled with a halogen containing bromine as a main component, while preventing a decrease in luminance, a decrease in luminous flux maintenance rate and an increase in lamp voltage. A metal halide lamp in which a pair of electrodes 13 are provided inside an arc tube 10 and mercury, a rare earth metal halide, and a rare gas are enclosed in the arc tube. The rare earth metal halide is an odor. Metal iodide was added as the main component, and the encapsulation ratio of metal iodide to metal bromide was regulated to less than 10 mol%. [Function] Since bromine is mainly used as the enclosed halide, devitrification of quartz is prevented, and a small amount of iodine is mixed to suppress the reaction between bromine and tungsten. It is possible to prevent an increase in voltage.
