(57) [Summary] [Objective] In a method for producing hydrogen peroxide by catalytically reacting hydrogen and oxygen with a platinum group metal catalyst in a reaction medium, a high selectivity is achieved in a reaction medium in which halogen ions do not exist. A catalyst capable of producing hydrogen peroxide. [Structure] A catalyst in which a platinum group metal is supported on a complex oxide carrier composed of cerium oxide and titanium oxide, zirconium oxide, or lanthanum oxide is used to catalytically react hydrogen and oxygen in a sulfuric acid aqueous solution. [Effect] Since it is not necessary to allow halogen ions to exist in the reaction medium, problems such as equipment corrosion and loss of platinum group metal catalyst elution can be reduced. |
