titleOfInvention Tongue assembly
abstract (57) [Abstract] [PROBLEMS] To provide a tongue assembly that holds the belt web in a retracted state without sagging when the belt web is released. The belt webbing 14 passes through a tongue assembly 22 and a D-ring 24. The tongue assembly includes a base 40, a cover 170 and a first clamping surface 80. The base has a latch plate 42 that engages the buckle 26 and an opening 54 through which the belt web passes. The cover 170 is movably attached to the base. The cover has an activation portion 202 which engages the belt web to move the cover between a first position and a second position when the belt web is under tension. The first clamping surface can clamp the belt web.
