(57) Abstract: [PROBLEMS] To provide a cation exchange resin having improved resistance to degradation of the copolymer caused by an oxidizing agent such as molecular oxygen. Construction A number of certain cross-linked copolymer beads are prepared by functionalizing with cation exchange groups. The cross-linked copolymer beads are made from para-substituted monovinyl aromatic monomers consisting of aromatic rings substituted with oxidatively stable moieties in the para position to the polymerizable vinyl moieties. |
