Represents 10 alkyl groups, substituted alkyl groups, phenyl groups, substituted phenyl groups, benzyl groups, and substituted benzyl groups, R 1 and R 2 are not the same at the same time) After hydrolyzing the 2-oxazoline or the optically active substance represented by the formula (1) to 2-aminoalcohol, the compound is oxidized by the following general formula (In the above formula, R 1 and R 2 are the same as above), or a method for producing an α-amino acid or an optically active substance thereof. [Effect] Using 2-oxazolines as starting materials, α- can be prepared by a simple and general method such as hydrolysis or substitution reaction. Amino acids can be produced.
