titleOfInvention Production of solution of non-ferrous metal sulfonate and apparatus therefor
abstract PURPOSE: To produce a solution of a non-ferrous metal sulfonate in such a concentration and purity suitable for the deposition of non-ferrous metals or as electrolytes in batteries, by brining a non-ferrous metal into contact with a sulfonic acid in the presence of oxygen or an oxygen-containing gas at a specific temperature. n CONSTITUTION: A non-ferrous metals is introduced into the interior of an insert 2 which is filled with a bulk 10 of granules, tips, etc., up to the level of the apertures 4. The reactor is then filled with at least 50%, by weight, preferably 60-65% aqueous sulfonic acid and is heated 12 to the necessary reaction temperature (preferably 20-120°C, especially 85-90°C), and oxygen or an oxygen-containing gas is blown in via a nozzle pipe 6. The liquid present in the insert 2 is thereby moved upward through the bulk 10. The liquid then passes through the apertures 4 into the outer annular space of a reactor 1, where it flows top to bottom and flows back through the apertures 3 and a liquid-permeable tray 5 into the insert 2. A circulation flow occurrs in the reactor 1, so that the non-ferrous metal and the sulfonic acid are reacted. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO
