titleOfInvention Optically active 1,2-diphenylcylohexane-1,2-diol and its production
abstract NEW MATERIAL:Optically active 1, 2-diphenylcyclohexane-1,2-diol. n USE: An intermediate for various organic syntheses useful for synthesizing an optically active host compound having especially excellent asymmetry distinguishing ability such as crown ether compound. n PREPARATION: Optically active 2-hydroxy-2-phenylcyclohexanone is phenylated to give an optically active 1,2-diphenylcyclohexane-1,2-diol. Optically active 2-hydroxy-2-phenylcyclohexanone is obtained by acylating cis- or trans-1- phenylcyclohexanone-1,2diol. to give a 2-acyloxy-1-phenylcyclohexanol, then converting 2-acyloxy-1-phenylcyclohexanol to optically active 1- phenylcyclohexane-1,2-diol by enantiomer distinguishing hydrolysis reaction and oxidizing. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
