titleOfInvention Production of 0-methylisourea sulfate
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the subject compound useful as an intermediate for pharmaceuticals, agricultural chemicals and industrial chemicals in high purity and yield in a short time by using O-methylisourea bisulfate and a specific amount of free O-methylisourea as raw materials and reacting the materials in a liquid medium. n CONSTITUTION: The objective compound can be produced by reacting (A) O- methylisourea bisulfate and (B) nearly equimolar amount (based on the component A) of free O-methylisourea in a liquid medium (preferably a mixture of methanol and water) at -10 to +20°C (preferably 0-10°C). Concretely, the reaction is carried out preferably by adding a methanol-containing solution of free O-methylisourea to a methanol-containing solution of the compound A. The O-methylisourea bisulfate can be produced e.g. by reacting a cyanamide with sulfuric acid in a methanol-containing solvent. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
