titleOfInvention | Production of polyurethane elastomer |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the subject elastomer, capable of facilitating casting operation and improved in water resistance of cured products by reacting a specific organic polyisocyanate with a polyhydroxy compound and then curing the resultant polyurethane prepolymer with an aromatic polyamine. n CONSTITUTION: An alicyclic-aliphatic diisocyanate expressed by the formula ((m) and (n) are 1-5) is initially used as an organic polyisocyanate and made to react with a polyhydroxy compound (preferably a polyether polyol such as polytetramethylene ether glycol) to provide a polyurethane prepolymer having terminal NCO groups. The aforementioned prepolymer is then cured with an aromatic polyamine (e.g. 4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane) to afford the objective elastomer. Furthermore, e.g. 2,5(6)-diisocyanatomethyl-bicyclo[2.2.1]heptane is cited as the compound expressed by the formula. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio |
