abstract PURPOSE:To improve fluorocarbon resistance of a lubricating oil and allow it to be used for a refrigerator in which R134a is used as a refrigerant by using esters of trimethylolpropane or/and pentaerythritol with specific mixed fatty acids as a base oil. CONSTITUTION:Mixed fatty acids are obtained by mixing 5 to 9C neo acid which is selected from the group consisting of 2,2-dimethylpentanoic acid, 2- ethyl-2-methylbutanoic acid and 2,2-dimethylheptanoic acid and 3 to 10C linear saturated fatty acid in a weight ratio of (0 to 5):(20 to 95). A base oil comprising esters is obtained by reacting trimethylolpropane or/and pentaerythritol with the mixed fatty acids. The title lubricating oil is obtained by compounding the base oil and the other optional lubricating oil, antioxidant, oiliness improver, anti-foamer and metal-deactivating agent.
