titleOfInvention Electrophotographic toner
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the toner which has excellent electrostatic chargeability and environmental stability and with which the performance stable over a long period of time is obtainable by specifying the combination of a binder resin and a polarity control agent and the respective elements of the specific volumetric resistance and dielectric constant of the toner. n CONSTITUTION: The binder resin of the toner is a polyester resin which is synthesized mainly from alkylene glycol and polyvalent carboxylic acid. The metal salt of salicylic acid and/or the metal salt of a salicylic acid deriv. is incorporated into the toner. The specific volume resistivity of the toner is ≥2.0×10 11 [cm.Ω] and the dielectric constant of the toner is 2.7 to 3.3. High- quality images having an excellent solid gradation characteristic are obtd. in this way and the images having the quality equiv. to the quality of initial images are obtd. even after continuous copying. The bright images are obtd. with no change in negative electrostatic charge quantity and less environmental fluctuations. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
