titleOfInvention Suspension syrup agent
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a slightly water-soluble drug-containing suspension syrup agent keeping excellent dispersion state with time, having excellent thermal stability, excellent fluidity, being readily administered by blending a carboxyvinyl polymer therewith. n CONSTITUTION: A slightly water-soluble drug (e.g. tranilast or mefenamic acid) is uniformly dispersed by adding 0.1-2.0g/100ml, preferably 0.1-1.0g/100ml carboxyvinyl polymer as a suspension. The drug is properly and uniformly blended with components such as well-known suspension, antiseptic, flavor, dispersant and surfactant which are added to ordinary syrup agents to give the objective substance. In the operation, viscosity of the suspension syrup agent is preferably adjusted to 100-1,000cPs (20°C) and pH is regulated to 3-6 by using a pH adjuster in terms of dispersion stability and readiness of administration. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
