titleOfInvention Preserving agent for carnation and preservation thereof
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a preserving agent containing a compound selected from chloric acid, chlorous acid, hypochlorous acid, phosphoric acid, phosphorous acid, hypophosophorous acid, or salt thereof and water absorbing resin and used for retaining freshness of carnation. n CONSTITUTION: (A) Chloric acid, chlorous acid, hypochlorous acid, phosphoric acid, phosphorous acid, hypophosphorous acid or salt thereof (e.g. alkali metal salt) and as necessary (B) oxide, peroxide, chloride, carbonate, sulfate, etc., of Fe, Ti, Zr, W, Mg, Ca, etc., are blended with (C) water absorbing resin (e.g. sodium polyacrylate) or these components are separately put in air permeable bags to produce the preserving agent. The component B is preferably used at an amount of the components A+B of 5-70wt.% and the component C is preferably used at an amount 0.2-2 time heavier than that of the components A+B. When the above-mentioned preserving agent is packaged together with carnation in corrugated cardboard or film and atored, preferably at ≤10°C, freshness of the carnation can be retained for a long period. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
