titleOfInvention Healthy tea and its preparation
abstract PURPOSE: To prepare a healthy tea exhibiting both a lean body activity and an intestinal disorder-preventing activity by mixing the roasted products of the roots and stems of an Asterales plant containing inulin with the roasted products of a plant containing a chinese tea component. n CONSTITUTION: The roasted products of the roots and stems of an Asterales plant such as Helianthus tuberosus L. containing an inulin component of the formula ((n) is 30-50) are mixed with the roasted products of a Chinese medicine ingredient-containing plant such as the leaves of Eucommia ulmoides Oliver to provide the objective healthy tea. It is estimated as the following that the healthy tea exhibits the intestinal disorder-preventing activity. When the roots, stems, etc., of the Asterales plant are processed, the inulinase, a hydrolase contained in the roots and leaves acts on the inulin to convert the inulin into inulo-oligosaccharide. The inulin is also readily converted into the inulo- oligosaccharide with an acid such as gastric juice. The inulo-oligosaccharide is slightly utilized with injurious bacteria in the intestines but utilized only with Bifidobacterium bacteria which are useful for preventing the disorders of the intestines, thereby permitting to exhibit the intestinal disorders. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
