abstract | PURPOSE:To provide the toner carrying member which satisfies required characteristics, can be easily produced and is usable for developing of a one- component nonmagnetic toner as well by forming a semiconductive resin layer of a coated film having uniform ruggedness on the outer peripheral surface of a cylindrical sleeve formed of a conductive metallic material. CONSTITUTION:A pair of disk-shaped supporting members 2 are fixed to both ends on a supporting shaft 1 which is freely rotatably supported by the supporting members. Both ends of the cylindrical toner carrying member 3 are fixed and supported by these members. The carrying member 3 is constituted of a cylindrical sleeve 4 made of aluminum and the semiconductive resin layer 5 formed on the outer peripheral surface. The layer 5 is formed by mixing a silica extender pigment as fine particles and a resin, such as polyester, with xyrol and a solvent, such as MIBK, to prepare a coating material, applying this material on a sleeve 4, drying the coating, and repeating baking and curing until about 110mum film thickness and 2.5 to 4.5mum surface roughness Rz are obtd. The roughness suitable for uniform and stable sticking of the toner is thus obtd. |
