abstract | PURPOSE: To advantageously obtain the subject compound that is a synthetic intermediate for 1H-pyrazoloazole compounds which are color photographic couplers by subjecting inexpensive and readily available 3-iminopyrazolidine compound as a raw material to desulfinating reaction. n CONSTITUTION: A 3-iminopyrazolidine compound expressed by formula I (R 1 is alkyl or aryl; R 2 is alkyl or aryl) is used as a starting raw material and subjected to desulfinating reaction in the presence of a base, preferably metallic alkoxides such as sodium methoxide, preferably in water or an alcoholic solvent (especially in the alcoholic solvent) at 50-100°C, especially 60-90°C to afford a compound expressed by formula II. Furthermore, the starting compound expressed by formula I is synthesized by reacting a compound expressed by formula III with hydrazine in the presence of an organic acid or a hydrohalogenic acid and sulfinating the resultant compound. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio |
