titleOfInvention Separation of l-phenylalanine and cinnamic acid
abstract PURPOSE: To readily separate cinnamic acid from L-phenylalanine with a small amount of a resin by treating a reaction solution with a strong basic anion exchange resin, the reaction solution being prepared by enzymatically converting the cinnamic acid into the L-phenylalanine in the presence of an ammonia source. n CONSTITUTION: Cinnamic acid is converted into L-phenylalanine in the presence of L-phenylalanine ammonia.lyase in a solution containing ammonium carbonate and ammonium hydroxide. The reaction solution is treated with a strong anion exchange resin having quaternary ammonium groups as exchange groups to adsorb only the cinnamic acid thereto for the separation of the L-phenylalanine in the solution. The adsorbed cinnamic acid is eluted with a mixture of a lower alcohol and sodium hydroxide, recovered from the elution solution and subsequently again employed in the reaction. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
