abstract NEW MATERIAL:2-Nitroimidazole-1-propionohydroxamic acid shown by formula I. n USE: An antiprotogoal showing high medicinal effects on Trypanosoma cruzi of mastigote and useful as a remedy for chagasi disease, having a little side effects and simply usable. n PREPARATION: 2-Nitroimisazole shown by formula II is reacted with an alkyl acrylate shown by formula IV (R is lower alkyl) in the presence of a base (e.g. triton B) at 80-100°C to give a compound shown by formula III.
