titleOfInvention Agent for suppressing proliferation of pathogen of periodontosis
abstract PURPOSE: To provide an agent for suppressing the proliferation of pathogen of periodontosis, composed of rosin, its processed product or their constituent components and exhibiting excellent antibacterial action against various oral bacterial deeply participating in the crisis and progress of periodontosis and gingivitis. n CONSTITUTION: The objective agent for suppressing the proliferation of pathogen of periodontosis can be produced by adding 0.001-1wt.%, preferably 0.01-0.05wt.% (based on the total amount of the composition for oral use) of a component selected from a rosin produced by purifying a resin acid existing in pine tree, its processed substance (preferably hydrogenated rosin or disproportionated rosin) or their constituent substances (preferably abietic acid, etc.) to an oral composition having relatively long retaining period in the oral cavity such as chewing gum, candy, dentifrice and mouth wash. The proliferation of pathogen of periodontosis such as Bacteroides gingivalis causing the loss of tooth can effectively be suppressed by the agent to inhibit the crisis and progress of periodontosis and gingivitis. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
