titleOfInvention Aqueous copolymer emulsion containing vinylsilane and diallyl ester of dibasic acid and preparation thereof
abstract PURPOSE: To prepare the title emulsion excellent in the resistance to heat and solvent by conducting emulsion polymn, of a monomer mixture contg. a vinylic silane, a diallyl ester of a dibasic acid, a monoethylenically unsatd. carboxylic acid, each in a specified amt., and the rest consisting of a monoethylenic monomer in an aq. medium. n CONSTITUTION: A monomer mixture contg. 0.5-10% vinylic silane (e.g. γ- methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane), 0.5-20% diallyl ester of a dibasic acid (e.g. diallyl terephthalate), less than 5% monoethylenically unsatd. carboxylic acid (e.g. methacrylic acid), and the rest consisting of a monoethylenic monomer (e.g. methyl methacrylate) is subjected to emulsion polymn. in an aq. medium using an emulsifier (e.g. sodium arylalkylsulfosuccinate) to give an aq. copolymer emulsion contg. the vinylic silane and the dialyl ester. The emulsion, excellent in the resistance to heat and solvent, is very effective as a treating agent for glass paper and as a coating agent for paper and synthetic resin film. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
