titleOfInvention Ultrasonic sensor
abstract PURPOSE: To expand a proper operating temperature range, to improve noise immunity and to increase a measuring available distance by correcting a fre quency of a signal driving a wave transmission piezoelectric element based on the temperature detected by a temperature detection means. n CONSTITUTION: A bias potential of a noninverting input terminal of an opera tional amplifier 27 depends on a combined resistance of resistors 39, 41, 43 and an NTC thermistor 45. The resistance of the thermistor 45 decreases as temperature rises. Thus, the bias potential of the operational amplifier 27 varies with a sensing temperature of the thermistor 45 and a center of a triangle wave in a Miller integration circuit 25 changes with the sensing temperature. The thermistor 45 is placed in the vicinity of the transmission wave piezoelectric element 7 or a wave receiving piezoelectric element to sense the ambient temper ature of the element. Temperature compensation is executed through a level of a triangle wave outputted from the circuit 25, and further, the degree of frequency modulation in a V/F conversion IC29 based on the resulting deviation of the circuit 25 in following to the frequency drift due to a temperature change in the piezoelectric element 7. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
