abstract NEW MATERIAL:A 4-aminophenol derivative shown by formula I [R 1 and R 2 and lower alkyl, lower alkanoyl, etc.; R 3 is phenyl which is replaced with 1-5 groups selected from lower alkoxy, lower alkanoyloxy, OH, amino, etc., or benzoquinonyl replaced with 1-3C lower alkyl; Y is single bond, lower alkylene, etc.; ZO is (protected) OH] or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. n EXAMPLE: N-(3,4-Diacetoxycinnamoyl)-4-benzyloxy-3,5-dimethylaniline. n USE: A drug. An active ingredient of 5-lipoxygenase inhibitor. Useful for treating various kinds of allergies and inflammatory diseases caused by leukotriene and alleviating and preventing symptoms. n PREPARATION: An aniline compound shown by formula II or a salt thereof is condensed with a carboxylic acid compound shown by formula III or a reactive derivative or a salt thereof by conventional method of peptide synthesis to give a compound shown by formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
