titleOfInvention Quantitative determination of organic silicon compound existing in air
abstract PURPOSE: To quantitatively determine the silicone in the space by extracting the org. silicon compd. (silicone) in the air absorbed on an adsorbent by an org. solvent and thermally decomposing the extracted silicone, then determining the resulted product of the thermal decomposition. n CONSTITUTION: The silicone existing in the air is absorbed on the adsorbent powder. The silicone adsorbed on the adsorbent is extracted by the org. solvent and the extracted silicone is thermally decomposed and the resulted product of the thermal decomposition is determined. The adsorbent to be used is exemplified by active carbon, silica gel, active alumina, etc. and the grain size thereof is preferably about several μm to several 100μm. Among these adsorbents, the active carbon is most adequate. For example, carbon tetracholoride, hexane, methyl isobutyl ketone, 'Freon-113', etc., are usable as the org. solvent to be used for the extraction. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
