titleOfInvention Rolling roll
abstract PURPOSE: To improve responsibility when ceramics and sintered hard alloy are used as a rolling roll by fitting a cylindrical member to a solid column or a thick-wall cylindrical metallic member through an intermediate material made from elastic/plastic metal. n CONSTITUTION: When a sleeve 2 is fitted to an arbor 1, an intermediate material 3 is interposed as a contact surface between the arbor 1 and the sleeve 2. Structural alloy steel SCM445 is used as the arbor 1 and the surface hardness was adjusted by heattreatment. Sialon ceramics was used as the sleeve 2. Intermediate material 3 is made from oxygen free copper and a serrate groove was rolled by an emboss roll on its one side. A groove was worked in advance on the barrel part of an arbor 1 in the peripheral direction so that the intermediate material 3 can be stationed. The metallic intermediate material easy to plastically deform is interposed between the sleeve and the arbor and this intermediate material is deformed plastically to absorb ununiform local size and to reduce local excessive stress generated in the sleeve. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
