titleOfInvention Image flowing preventing method
abstract PURPOSE: To prevent image flowing by providing a means for removing a discharge product adhering to the surface of a surface protective layer by means of a contact member. n CONSTITUTION: An electrostatic charger 2, a exposing slit 3, a developing part 4, a transfer charger 5, a separation charger 6, a cleaning unit 7, and a discharge product removing unit 8 are arranged in this order around a photosensitive drum 1 for electrophotography which is obtained by successively laminating a photosensitive layer and the surface protective layer composed of or principally composed of carbon on a conductive supporting body. In such a case, the discharge product adhering to the surface of the surface protective layer is removed by the contact of a member 9 which consists of resin having high water absorption in the unit 8. Thus, the discharge product produced by corona discharge is absorbed in the surface of the protective layer, thereby preventing he image flowing which occurs because moisture in the air is absorbed, electric resistance in the protective layer surface direction is lowered, and an electrostatic latent image is not maintained. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
