titleOfInvention Decorating method of three-dimensional formed item
abstract PURPOSE: To stably mass-produce the desired pattern and design by a method wherein a base material sheet having the desired pattern thereon is preformed into the shape along the predetermined mole surface of a casting mold and, after that, placed on the mold surface of the casting mold so as to pour resin in the mold and harden the resin. n CONSTITUTION: Transparent acrylic film 1, onto which pattern 2 is printed in photogravure, is softened by heating with a heater and, after that, formed in the reverse shape of a washbowl by vacuum forming technique. Transparent polymerizable resin 4 is cast in a stainless steel casting mold 3 having the same shape as the reverse mold of the washbowl. The formed film 1 is placed on the transparent polymerizable resin layer 4. Under the condition just mentioned above, contact bonding and deaeration of the assembly of the casting mold 3, the resin layer 4 and the film 1 are carried out. Further, base polymerizable resin 5 is cast on the resin layer 4 and hardened by heating. Thus, three-dimensional formed item having the desired pattern and design can be stably mass-produced. Further, since the base material sheet, which has been formed with a separate mold, is installed on the casting mold, no suction hole mark of the forming mold or the like is left on the formed item, offering an attractive product. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
