abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a detergent compsn. excellent in cleaning action, foaming action and foam retentivity and little in irritant action against the skin, etc., by combining a salt of a higher fatty acid with a specific saccharide surfactant and an ampholytic surfactant. n CONSTITUTION: A saccharide surfactant of formula I (wherein R 1 is 8-18C linear or branched alkyl, alkenyl or alkylphenyl; R 2 is 2-4C alkylene; G is 5-6C reducing sugar; m is 0-10; and n is 1-10 is combined with a salt of a higher fatty acid (e.g. potassium laurate) and an amphloytic surfactant to prepare a cleaning agent compsn. The amphloytic surfactant used is a betaine type one represented by formula II (wherein R 3 is 8-24C alkyl, alkenyl or the like; R 4 is 1-4 alkyl; and R 5 is 1-6C alkylene or the like).
