titleOfInvention Ordinary temperature drying, crosslinkable water-based coating resin composition
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a composition excellent in storage stability and in the dryability, water resistance, etc., of a coating film by incorporating a specified amount of a dihydrazide compound into an emulsion obtained by the emulsion polymerization of a polymerizable monomer mixture having a specified composition. n CONSTITUTION: A polymerizable monomer mixture which contains 2-30wt.% diacetone (meth) acrylamide, 0-1.5wt.% (meth) acrylic acid and (meth) acrylamide, 0.5-10wt.% hydroxylated monomer (e.g. 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate), 0-35wt.% styrene, and 23.5-97.5wt.% mixture of other monomers having an SP value of 8 to 9.3 is subjected to emulsion polymerization in the presence of a nonionic and/or anionic surface active agent in an amount of 0.1-6wt.% based on the mixture. The obtained emulsion is mixed with a dihydrazide compound of the formula in an amount sufficient to provide an equivalent ratio of the hydrazide group to the carbonyl group in the emulsion particles of (0.05 to 2):1. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
