abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a resin composition having excellent flame-retardancy and suitable as an insulating material for high-voltage apparatus to be directly exposed to outdoor such as insulator by compounding a glycidyl ester epoxy resin with a flame-retardant. n CONSTITUTION: The objective composition is produced by compounding 100 pts.wt. of a glycidyl ester epoxy resin with 25-50 pts.wt. (preferably 30-40 pts.wt.) of a bromine-based or phosphorus-based flame-retardant (e.g. decabromodiphenyl ether or polychlorophosphate).
