abstract PURPOSE: To manufacture a low density interior trim having severely undulating and complicated surface by a method wherein organic polyisocyanate, polyol component, catalyst for synthesizing urethane or isocyanate, foaming agent and, when necessary, other additive are simultaneously poured in a prefoaming mold for prefoaming. n CONSTITUTION: Organic polyisocyanate, polyol component consisting of polyol (a) having the hydroxyl group value of 50-150 and polyol (b) having the hydroxyl group value of 250-700 under the state that the weight ratio of a:b is 1:9-9:1, catalysts and foaming agent are simultaneously poured in a prefoaming mold, which is heated up to 40-80°C and in which skin material is installed, for prefoaming. The precursor 3 thus obtained of interior automotive trim is foamed secondarily in molds 1 and 2, the in-mold shapes of which are the final shape of the interior trim and which is heated up to 90-160°C and, at the same time, press-formed in order to produce the desired interior automotive trim. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
