abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a hair dye enabling the dyeing of hair under mild condition while giving little side effect by adding a specific amount of limonene, linalyl acetate, linalool or essential oil containing the same to an oxidation dye, thereby improving the dyeing effect of the oxidation dye. n CONSTITUTION: The objective hair dye is produced by compounding a hair dye containing an oxidation dye with at least one kind of component selected from limonene [i.e., 1-methyl-4-(1-methylethenyl)-cyclohexene] or a limonene- containing essential oil (the concentration in the dyeing liquid is 0.25-5.0wt.% in application state), linalyl acetate (i.e., 3,7-dimethyl-1,6octadien-3-yl acetate) or a linalyl acetate-containing essential oil (0.25-5.0wt.) and linalool (i.e., 3,7- dimethyl-1,6-octadien-3-ol) or a linalool-containing essential oil (an essential oil containing ≥70wt.% of linalyl acetate and linalool in total, e.g. lavender oil) (0.25-5.0wt.%). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
