PURPOSE: To obtain an antiviral agent useful for preventing and treating, etc., viral diseases, especially AIDS. n CONSTITUTION: An antiviral agent containing a substance which is a low- molecular fraction, prepared by gel filtration of an extract separated from a eucalyptus with hot water or a water, containing silicon as a constituent element and capable of emitting blue color with ammonium molybdate as an active ingredient.
