abstract |
PURPOSE: To produce an egg into whose yoke polybasic unsaturated fatty acids are effectively transferred on the basis of information that the polybasic unsaturated fatty acids comprising linolic acid and linolenic acid and useful for the health of human bodies are contained in hemp seeds. n CONSTITUTION: Hemp seeds pressed in such an extent as the shells of the seeds are crushed are added to a hen feed in an amount of 5-40%, and the mixture is fed only to a laying hen during its laying period to obtain an egg highly containing polybasic unsaturated fatty acids so that the ratio of saturated fatty acids comprising myristic acid (C 14:0) and palmitic acid (C 18:3) to polybasic unsaturated fatty acids comprising linolic acid (C 18:2) and linolenic acid (C 18:3) {linolic acid + linolenic acid/myristic acid + palmitie acid} is ≥0.6. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio |
