abstract PURPOSE: To accelerate hydrosilylation without accelerating open-ring polymn. of epoxide rings by the reaction of a mixture containing an ethylenic unsatd. epoxide, an organo-hydrogen polysiloxane and a specified rhodium complex catalyst. n CONSTITUTION: The reaction of a mixture consisting of (A) 1 pt.wt. of an ethylenic unsatd. epoxide, (B) 0.5 to 400 pts.wt. of an organohydrogen polysiloxane or organohydrogen silane, and (C) 1 to 5000 ppm of a rhodium complex catalyst based on the component (A) is carried out at 25 to 100°C to obtain the objective compd. The rhodium complex catalyst is selected from compds. expressed by formulae I to VI, wherein X is a halogen; (x) is 3 or 4; R is a 1 to 8C alkyl, an aryl, etc.; R 1 is an aryl, an alalkyl, etc. As for the component (A), the component (B), and the component (C), 4-vinylcyclohexene oxide, 1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisiloxane, and RhCl(Ph 3 P) 3 are preferable, respectively. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO
