abstract | PURPOSE: To provide the subject new compounds useful as an optical recording medium excellent in reflectance, sensitivity, recording characteristics, regenerated light stability and shelf life and showing dark color or bluish green color. n CONSTITUTION: Compounds of formula I (R is 4-15C branched alkoxy; Position of R is 1 or 4, 5 or 8, 9 or 12, 13 or 16; Met is Zn or Mg), e.g. tetra(4-methyl-2- pentyloxy)phthalocyanine zinc isomer mixture. In addition, the compounds of formula I can be obtained by a reaction with heating in the presence of a compound of formula II and 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]-7-undecene in a metal derivative and an alcohol.
