abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the tile composition which can give a polymer having a low glass transition point and is useful as a self-adhesive or the like by selecting the title composition in which the alcohol component is a 9C alcohol mixture obtained by dimerizing a butene fraction by a specified process and having a specified composition of isomers. n CONSTITUTION: The tile composition contains as the alcoholic component a 9C alcohol mixture obtained by subjecting an 8C olefin, obtained by dimerizing a butene fraction, to hydroformylation and hydrogenation and comprising 8-50wt.% component (I) having a retention time equal to or shorter than that of isobutyl n-caprylate (A) when analyzed by gas chromitography performed by using a capillary column packed with polyethylene glycol of a specified molecular weight as an isomer separating agent, 8-40wt.% component (II) having a retention time longer than that of A and equal to or shorter than that of methyl n-caprylate (B), and 20-80wt.% component (III) having a retention time longer than that of B. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
