abstract | PURPOSE: To provide a dispersant for calcium carbonate obtaining low viscosity in a high concn. slurry by the addition of a small amount and also excellent in dispersion stability. n CONSTITUTION: A dispersant for calcium carbonate is composed of a salt of a hydrolysate of a copolymer of maleic anhydride, an aliphatic conjugated diene such as 1,3-butadiene or isoprene and a monomer copolymerizable with maleic anhydride and aliphatic conjugated diene such as isobutene.
