abstract | PURPOSE: To use a safe compound, iron chlorophyllin, for preventing or treating the disorders of human bodies caused by active oxygen which is considered to cause the various disorders of the human bodies such as cancer, cardiac infarction and diabete and the deterioration of cosmetics. n CONSTITUTION: A agent for preventing and treating the disorders of human bodies caused by active oxygen, containing iron chlorophyllin as an active ingredient. The iron chlorophyllin is obtained by removing magnesium from chlorophyllin with an acid, saponifying the produced pheophytin with an alkali, and subsequently compounding the produced phytochlorin with iron. The agent is used for preventing and treating disorders, e.g. aging, congenital abnormal diseases, asthma, sepsis, angiopathy, arterial sclerosis, nephritis, cataract, skin diseases such as psoriasis, cancer, cardiac infarction, diabete, rheumatism, cerebral edema, chronic pulmonary emphysema, various ischemia and autoimmunity. The deterioration of the qualities of fats, oils, etc., in foods or cosmetics is prevented.
