titleOfInvention Production of (r)-2-halopropionic and (r)-2-halo-n-butyric acid
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain in high efficiency the title compounds as intermediates for medicines, liquid crystals, etc., by bringing Pseudomonas bacteria capable of producing 2-haloacid dehalogenase into contact with (R,S)-2-halopropionic acid or (R,S)-2-halo-n-butyric acid. n CONSTITUTION: (A) Pseudomonas strain H1-1 (FERM P-12128) capable of producing 2-haloacid dehalogenase or (B) a microbial treated product therefrom is brought into contact with (R,S)-2-halopropionic acid or (R,S)-2-halo-n-butyric acid to put (S)-2-halopropionic acid or (S)-2-halo-n-butyric acid to reactive metabolism, effecting conversion of them to D-lactic acid or D-2-hydroxy-n-butyric acid, respectively, and leaving in the reaction liquor (R)-2-halopropionic acid or (R)-2-halo-n-butyric acid, thus giving the objective (R)-2-halopropionic acid and (R)-2-halo-n-butyric acid. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
