abstract | PURPOSE: To provide a new compound useful as an insecticidal miticide effective against vermin resistant to organic phosphorus pesticide, pyrethroidal pesticide, etc. n CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula I [Ar is group of formula II (R 1 and R 2 are alkyl, alkoxy, etc.; R 3 is halogen, alkyl, etc.), etc.; Q is group of formula III (X 1 to X 3 are H, halogen or alkyl), etc.; R is alkyl or cycloalkyl], e.g. N-(4-bromo-2,6-diisopropylphenyl)-N'-tert-butyl-1-(1-imidazolyl)formamidine. The compound of formula I can be produced by reacting an iminohalide of formula IV (Hal is halogen) with an azole of formula Q-H in the presence of an acid acceptor (e.g. sodium carbonate) in a solvent (e.g. dichloromethane) at -10 to +150°C.
