abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition which does not form a tough solid even by freezing and is useful for the local cooling of head, etc., and the maintenance of the freshness of perishable food, drink, etc., by adding and mixing an edible oil, a surfactant and a freezing point depressing agent to a hydrated gel composed of a specific CMC sodium and a specific metal salt. n CONSTITUTION: The objective composition can be produced by mixing (A) an aqueous solution of CMC sodium having an average carboxymethyl substitution degree of 0.4-2.0 per one anhydrous glucose unit of cellulose and a viscosity of 10-15,000cPs as 1% aqueous solution and (B) an aqueous solution of ≥3-valent metal salt, adding an edible oil such as salad oil to the obtained gel, stirring the mixture to form granulated gel particles, adding a surfactant and a freezing point depressing agent and stirring the mixture. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio |
