abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound useful for light recording, etc., having excellent nonlinear optical effects as a nonlinear optical material. n CONSTITUTION: A compound shown by formula I (R 1 is Cl or trifluoromethyl; R 2 is Cl, nitro or methylenedioxoy) such as 5-amino-2-(3,4- methylenedioxobenzylidene)-4-(3-trifluoromethylphenyl)-3-thiophenone.
