abstract PURPOSE:To provide a hollow yarn membrane which can be used safely in the medical field, food industries, etc., owing to separation of substances with especially small molecular weight, separate the substances with sharp molecular weight division, produces little effluents to water and to provide a manufacturing method to manufacure such hollow yarn membrane stably and easily. CONSTITUTION:The polysulfone-based permselective hollow yarn membrane of this invention is a hydrophilic polymer-containing polysulfone-based hollow yarn membrane whose hydrophilic polymer is crosslinked and made water- insoluble. The method of manufacturing such hollow yarn membrane is such that a hollow yarn membrane is prepared from a yarn spinning raw liquid containing polysulfone-based resin and hydrophilic polymer, and the membran is wetted with over saturated water content and crosslinking by radiation while keeping the wet condition.
