titleOfInvention Fluorination of trichlorodifuloroethane
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a fluorinated substance of trichloroethane in high yield by reacting trichlorodifluoroethane with HF in the presence of a catalyst comprising an alumina carrier having a specific composition carrying an element selected from Mn and/or iron-group element. n CONSTITUTION: Trichlorodifluoroethane is allowed to react with hydrogen fluoride to perform fluorination by using a catalyst carrying at least a species of element selected from Mn and iron-group elements on a halogenated alumina carrier having a composition expressed by the formula (x+y+z=3, 0<x≤1.5, 0<y≤1 and 0.2≤z≤2.8) to afford 1,1-dichloro-2,2,2-trifluoroethane, 1- chloro-1,2,2,2-tetrafluoroethane and pentafluoroethane in high yield. Carrying amount of the carrier is preferably 0.1-20wt.%. Besides, the reaction is preferably performed in a vapor of normal pressure or increased pressure at 150-550°C. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
