titleOfInvention Plaster
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a plaster having excellent transcutaneous absorbability of a drug component and giving little irritation to the skin by applying a tacky adhesive layer having a specific composition and containing a tacky adhesive base, a drug component, a water-absorbing filler, etc., to a surface of a flexible substrate. n CONSTITUTION: The objective plaster is produced by coating a surface of a flexible substrate with a tacky adhesive layer containing (A) a tacky adhesive base, preferably acrylic or rubber-based tacky adhesive base, (B) a compound plasticizing the component A, preferably a fatty acid ester, (C) silicic anhydride having particle diameter of 0.01-100μm, (D) a drug which can be introduced into the living body by transcutaneous or transmucous administration and (E) a water-absorbing filler swollen with absorbed water and resistant to swelling with the drug (preferably crosslinked polyvinyl pyrrolidone). The plaster has high drug-releasing effect especially in moisture-absorbed state and effectively releases the drug component by absorption of sweat or moisture evaporated from the skin. Since the solution of the tacky adhesive layer has low thixotropic property, a tacky adhesive layer can easily be formed by a solvent coating process. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
