abstract PURPOSE: To provide a composition having high strengths and rigidity and excellent flaming characteristics and dimensional stability under heating by compounding a polyamide and/or polyester with a specified modified polyarylene sulfide, etc. n CONSTITUTION: A mixture of 0.1-99.9 wt.%, desirably 0.5-40 wt.% polymer having amide groups and/or ester groups in the molecule (except an aromatic polycarbonate and a polyester carbonate, an aromatic liquid crystal polyester and polyester carbonate (e.g. polyamide 6 or 66) with 99.9-0.1 wt.%, desirably 99.5-60 wt.% functionally grafted arylene sulfide polymer prepared by reacting 80-99 wt.% arylene sulfide polymer (e.g. poly-p-phenylene sulfide) with 0.1-20 wt.% aromatic compound represented by any one of formulas I to V (X is NO 2 , sulfo or the like; R 1 is H, an alkyl, an acyl or the like; R 2 is H, an alkyl, an aryl or the like; and Ar is a 1-22C alkyl or the like; and the like) is compound with 250 wt.% or below, desirably 0.001-100 wt.% additives. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO
